Epic Pass

United States, Canada, Switzerland, Australia, Japan

The Epic Pass is Vail Resorts' season pass, covering resorts the company owns or partners with across North America, Europe, Australia and Japan -- roughly 40+ destinations including Vail, Breckenridge, Whistler Blackcomb, Verbier, Sölden and Perisher. There are several pass tiers beyond the full unlimited Epic Pass -- Local, Day, and a number of smaller regional passes tied to specific resort clusters -- with different pricing and blackout rules for each, so check epicpass.com for the current tier list and exact pricing. If you take a season job at any Vail-owned resort, ask HR about the staff Merchant Pass specifically -- it's a different product from any of the public passes, with its own restrictions (see below).

Staff pass perk

Free for resort staff

Vail Resorts staff don't automatically get a full Epic Pass -- they get a separate "Merchant Pass" (employee pass), which has real differences: holiday/peak-date blackout restrictions apply (the full retail Epic Pass has none), and it includes 7 reservation-free days at Telluride, a resort that isn't on Epic at all for the public. Confirm exact current terms with your specific resort's HR, as details vary by role and property.

Pass tiers

  • Epic Pass (unlimited, no blackouts)$998
  • Epic Local Pass$829
  • Epic Day Pass$141

Blackout dates

Staff Merchant Pass only (not the public Epic Pass): holiday/peak-date restrictions typically apply. Exact dates change yearly -- confirm with your resort's HR.
