Terms of Service
Last updated 7 September 2026
1. Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between you and Daniel Stephenson ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of Seasoned.info.
- Company status: Seasoned.info is currently operated by an individual sole proprietor based in British Columbia, Canada. It is not an incorporated company, so there is no company registration number.
- Address: 5307 Victoria Drive #1290, Vancouver, BC V5P 3V6, Canada
- Contact: support@seasoned.info
Seasoned.info is a database and review platform for people working a full ski or snowboard season β living and working at a resort. We hold records on roughly 400 resorts, publish visa and practical guides, and host reviews written by seasonal workers about resorts and about the employers who hire them.
2. Accepting these terms
By using Seasoned.info β browsing it, creating an account, or posting anything β you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
These terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy, our Acceptable Use and Content Policy, and our Notice and Takedown Procedure. All four form one agreement.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or post content. By creating an account you confirm that you are.
You must also not be barred from using the service under the laws of your country, and you must not have been previously banned by us.
4. Your account
When you create an account you agree to:
- give a real, working email address;
- choose a password that is not used elsewhere, and keep it secret;
- take responsibility for everything done through your account;
- tell us promptly at support@seasoned.info if you think someone else has access to it;
- keep one account only, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
You may use a screen name rather than your real name. That pseudonymity is for your protection from employers β it is not anonymity from the law. If a court orders us to disclose account information, we must comply.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms. See section 12.
5. Content you post
5.1 You keep ownership
You own what you write and photograph. Posting on Seasoned.info does not transfer copyright to us.
5.2 The licence you give us
To let us actually run the site, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable and sub-licensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (only for technical purposes such as resizing, format conversion and translation), publish, display, distribute and make available your content:
- on Seasoned.info in any language version of the site;
- in excerpts, summaries, aggregate statistics and search results derived from it;
- in promotion of the platform itself, such as quoting a short extract of a review with your screen name attached.
This licence lasts for as long as your content is on the site, plus a reasonable period afterwards for backups, caches and archival copies to clear. It survives deletion of your account only to that limited extent, and to the extent we must retain material to defend a legal claim.
If we anonymise a review after you close your account (see the Privacy Policy), the licence continues in respect of the anonymised version unless you ask us to remove the review entirely.
5.3 What you promise about your content
By posting, you confirm that:
- it is your own first-hand experience, and it is honest;
- you own it or have the right to post it;
- it does not infringe anyone's copyright, trade mark or other rights;
- it does not breach any confidentiality obligation or non-disclosure agreement you have signed;
- it does not name individual colleagues or managers, and does not identify any private individual in a way our Content Policy forbids;
- where a photo shows an identifiable person, you have a lawful basis to upload it;
- it is not defamatory, discriminatory, harassing, threatening or unlawful.
5.4 We can remove content
We may remove, edit for policy compliance, or un-publish any content at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe it breaches these terms or the Content Policy, or if we receive a valid complaint under our Notice and Takedown Procedure. We are not obliged to monitor content and do not undertake to.
6. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- post anything that breaches our Acceptable Use and Content Policy;
- post a review of a job or resort you have not personally worked at or lived in for a season;
- post reviews on behalf of an employer, or pay, incentivise or pressure anyone to post a review;
- impersonate anyone, including an employer or another user;
- post spam, advertising, recruitment adverts or affiliate links without our written permission;
- scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-download the database, or use automated tools against the site, except a well-behaved search engine crawler obeying our robots.txt;
- reproduce substantial parts of the database elsewhere β the database and its structure are protected by copyright and database right;
- attempt to bypass rate limits, authentication, access controls or moderation;
- probe, scan or test the security of the site without our written permission;
- upload malware, or anything designed to disrupt the service;
- use the AI assistant to generate unlawful content, to attack the model, or to extract system instructions;
- use the service to break the law in your country or ours.
7. Reviews are opinion and personal experience
This matters, so read it carefully.
Reviews on Seasoned.info are the personal opinions and reported first-hand experiences of the individuals who wrote them. They are not statements of fact made by us. We do not endorse them, verify them, or adopt them as our own.
- A review reflects one person's season, at one resort, with one employer, in one year. Employers change. Managers change. Pay and conditions change.
- Figures for pay, rent and hours are what that reviewer says they experienced. They are not a survey, an average, or a guarantee of what you would receive.
- We moderate content on a best-effort basis. Moderation does not mean we have checked that a review is true.
If you are an employer and you believe a review about you is inaccurate or unlawful, please use our Notice and Takedown Procedure. We take those complaints seriously and act on valid ones promptly.
8. No warranty on accuracy β please read
Seasoned.info publishes resort data, employer records, pay and cost-of-living information, and visa and immigration guides. People make significant life decisions using this material β moving country, quitting a job, signing a season contract.
We provide all of it "as is" and "as available", with no warranty of any kind. In particular:
- We do not guarantee that anything on the site is accurate, complete, current, or applicable to your situation.
- Visa and immigration guides are general information, not legal or immigration advice. Immigration rules change frequently and without notice, and they depend on your nationality, your circumstances and the country concerned. Always check with the relevant embassy, consulate, government immigration authority, or a qualified immigration adviser before you act.
- Pay, rent and cost figures come from two different places and neither is a promise. Some are historical reports from individuals β what one person says they were paid or charged, not an offer, forecast or benchmark. Others are researched from third-party sources, and a meaningful proportion of those are estimates or values derived from related data rather than figures published for that specific resort. Where a figure is estimated or derived, the source line on the resort page says so.
- Some published numbers are composites we calculate, not measurements β for example the Seasoned Score, resort size, and the 1β10 ratings for gnarliness, nightlife and similar. The method for each is published, but they are our editorial judgement expressed as a number, not an external fact.
- Cost-of-living and rent figures in particular may describe a different product from the one you will actually buy β market rents rather than shared seasonal-worker accommodation, for instance. We say so where we know it. Do not budget from them without checking locally.
- Employer records may be incomplete or out of date. Absence of a review does not mean an employer is good; presence of a bad review does not mean it is bad now.
- AI assistant responses are generated automatically and may be wrong. Do not rely on them without checking. They are not legal, immigration, financial, medical or employment advice.
- We do not guarantee the site will be available, uninterrupted, secure or error-free, and we may change or withdraw features at any time.
You are responsible for your own decisions. Verify anything important independently before you act on it.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties, conditions and terms, including any implied terms of satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose and accuracy.
9. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any decision you make in reliance on the site, including decisions about taking a job, moving to a country, applying for a visa, or entering a contract with an employer.
- We are not liable for the content posted by other users, or for any loss arising from it.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of income, loss of opportunity, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data, or business interruption.
- Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of the service is capped at the greater of (a) the total amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, and (b) CAD $100.
If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights, and nothing here requires you to give them up.
If you use the service in the course of a business, you agree the limitations above are reasonable given that the service is provided free of charge.
10. Indemnity
If you post content or use the service in breach of these terms, you agree to indemnify us against any claim, demand, loss, damage, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) that we suffer as a result β in particular any defamation claim, privacy claim, data protection claim or intellectual property claim brought by a third party because of what you posted.
We will tell you promptly about any such claim, will not settle it without consulting you, and will let you participate in the defence.
This does not apply where the claim arises from something we did independently of your content.
This indemnity applies only where you use the service in the course of a business, or where the claim arises from content you posted deliberately or recklessly in breach of these terms. It does not limit or remove any statutory right you have as a consumer.
11. Our intellectual property
The Seasoned.info name, logo, design, code, guides, editorial content, and the structure and selection of the resort and employer database belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, adapt, republish or extract substantial parts of them without our written permission.
You may link to pages on the site and quote short extracts with attribution.
12. Suspension and termination
You can close your account at any time from your settings, or by emailing support@seasoned.info.
We may suspend or terminate your account, or remove your content, if:
- you breach these terms or the Content Policy;
- we receive a valid legal complaint about your content;
- we are required to by law or court order;
- your account is being used for fraud, spam or abuse;
- we discontinue the service.
Except where the breach is serious or we are legally required to act immediately, we will normally warn you first and give you a chance to put it right. Where we act without warning, we will tell you why afterwards and you may appeal by emailing support@seasoned.info. We will look at appeals fairly and respond within 14 days.
Sections 5.2 (licence), 8 (no warranty), 9 (liability), 10 (indemnity), 11 (IP), 13 (law) and 14 (disputes) survive termination.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it.
The courts of British Columbia have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident in the EU, EEA, the UK or elsewhere, you keep the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence and to the protection of your local mandatory consumer law.
14. How disputes are handled
- Talk to us first. Email support@seasoned.info describing the problem. Most things are resolved here. We will respond within 14 days.
- Escalation. If our first response does not resolve it, say so and we will review the matter again at operator level within a further 14 days.
- Mediation. If we still cannot agree, either of us may propose mediation by a mutually acceptable mediator in British Columbia. Mediation is voluntary β neither of us has to agree to it, and neither of us has to settle.
- Court. Either of us may go to court at any time; nothing above prevents that. If you are a consumer, this includes any small claims or consumer tribunal available to you locally.
Complaints about a specific piece of content should go through the Notice and Takedown Procedure instead, which has its own timescales.
15. General
- Changes to these terms. We may change these terms. For material changes we will give registered users at least 14 days' notice by email and by a notice on the site, and update the date at the top. Continuing to use the service after the change takes effect means you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, close your account.
- No partnership. Nothing here creates a partnership, agency or employment relationship between us.
- Severability. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours if the platform is sold, provided your rights are not reduced.
- Third parties. These terms are between you and us. Nobody else has any right to enforce them.
- Entire agreement. These terms and the documents they refer to are the whole agreement between us about the service.
