Paoli Peaks is southern Indiana's main ski hill -- small, mostly intermediate terrain with a modest vertical drop (around 300ft). It's a genuinely rare thing to find skiing in Indiana at all, so it fills a real local niche despite its size.
Living here means small-town southern Indiana -- basic local amenities, a low cost of living, and nothing resembling a resort town; nearby Louisville is the closest genuine city for bigger amenities and nightlife on days off.
On the Epic Pass network as a regional feeder resort, a season at Paoli Peaks is realistically about building experience close to home for Midwest workers rather than chasing big-mountain terrain -- it suits someone regionally based or prioritizing proximity over mountain scale.
