Afton Alps packs a large lift network (21 lifts) onto a small, mostly beginner/intermediate hill near St. Paul, Minnesota -- vertical drop is modest (around 350ft), so this isn't a terrain-variety destination.
Living here means Twin Cities suburbs rather than a resort town -- genuine city amenities, nightlife and everyday services are a short drive into St. Paul or Minneapolis, which is the actual draw for many staff more than the skiing itself.
On the Epic Pass network as a regional feeder resort, Afton Alps realistically suits someone building instructing or lift-ops hours close to a major city, not someone chasing a destination mountain season. The large lift count relative to terrain size means plenty of shift opportunities even though the mountain itself is small.
