Pico Mountain sits right next to Killington but keeps a smaller, quieter, old-school New England character -- real vertical (close to 2,000ft) without Killington's scale or crowds. Terrain suits a genuine range of ability levels without ever feeling overwhelmed by visitor traffic.
Living at Pico means small-town central Vermont, with Killington's much bigger amenities, nightlife and grocery/retail infrastructure just a short drive away -- effectively the best of both, a quiet home mountain with a bigger town nearby when needed.
On the Ikon Pass network, Pico is a genuine option for seasonaires who want solid Vermont terrain and easy access to Killington's scene without working at the busiest resort in the state. Staff community is smaller and more local than Killington's, and jobs here tend to be easier to actually get to know your coworkers in.
