The nearby Lech area offers slightly more variety and is closely linked, but Zürs itself is the smaller, quieter half of that pairing.

Zürs is a small, purpose-built ski village rather than a town with normal everyday life — expect a compact bar scene and hospitality-focused infrastructure, not a high street with supermarkets and services. Groceries average around €90 per week (~£76.9), which is reasonable for a high-altitude Alpine location, but you'll likely do your shopping in nearby Lech or the wider Arlberg area rather than in Zürs itself. The nearest airport is Innsbruck, roughly 140 kilometres away (about 2.5 hours by car or shuttle), which is manageable but not immediate. Rent figures for private housing are hard to pin down, but the practical reality is that most seasonaires live in employer-provided accommodation — which is usually basic but included as part of hospitality or ski-school packages. The community is small and tight-knit rather than a sprawling seasonal hub; you'll know most other workers within weeks, which can feel either welcoming or claustrophobic depending on your temperament.
